Description - THE BIOSCAN The Journal An International Quarterly Journal of life sciences with ISSN no. 0973-7049 and website: www.thebioscan.in. Aim and scope The journal aims to publish original peer reviewed/refereed research papers of all aspects of Life Sciences. Due to peer reviewing of the papers and regularly the journal has reached appreciable height in academic world and is abstracted by most of the leading Abstracting agencies. Paperless Work Invitation of the papers, sending to the referees for reviewing, receiving the comments from the referees and again resending the reviewed papers to the respective authors is done online. Editorial Policy The journal prefers the papers of high academic value specially the results without the use of very sophisticated instruments and highlighting the traditional knowledge of scientific growth. The papers having specific objective and conclusion are entertained. No paper in any case is published without proper reviewing. Ethical issue We are always against the cruelty to animals, so we take concern of the ethical committee before processing the paper if animal model has been used. Review Policy All the papers are reviewed following double blind system without taking much time in decision. Only online reviewing is done and manuscripts judged to be of high quality are accepted. Acceptance/rejection is communicated within 3 to 4 weeks. No processing fee The Journal doesn t charge any processing fee for reviewing the papers and sending acceptance i.e the reviewing process is free of cost. Timely release Journal is released in the first week of the scheduled month i.e March, June, September and December. Editorial Desk On editorial desk the presentation of figures/ graphs/ photographs are very meticulously examined and no cutting and pasting is done like many journals in the world. The editorial desk assures clarity and homogeneity of such presentation. Homogeneity in publication Each article of every issue and all issues of volume are presented in a homogenous way from editing view point i.e presentation of title, address, level of references to the extent of comma and fullstop. Editorial diversity There is perfect geographical diversity in selection of editorial board to give a proper international character. The journal contains editors from different parts of the world. Contributor s diversity The journal has published contribution from USA, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, China, Iran, Saudi Arabia and many other countries apart from almost all the universities and research organization of India. Citation The journal has got regular citations of the published papers and quite appreciable citation index has been achieved by the journal till now. On line availability The journal is published in print version but all the issues and articles are available online which can be downloaded free of cost. Academic contribution to the field The whole endeavour behind publication of the journal is to contribute substantially in academic world and the journal is playing this role very successfully. The NAAS rating of the journal in India under 10 point scale is more than 7. The journal has been offered by Springer and evaluation by SCOPUS. Clarity of Abstracts The journal publishes the abstracts which are very clearly data oriented (without textural and bookish material) reflecting the major finding of the paper with a line of conclusion. The journal doesn t allow publication of structured abstract. Specificity of Introduction The journal has very clear understanding regarding the introduction of the papers which must have- 1. The basic idea of the topic of the paper 2. Citation of similar works done by others quoting the references in proper format of the journal 3. Need of the present work 4. Hypothesis behind taking the work 5. Objective of the paper Presentation of Materials and Methods and Discussion The journal accepts those papers which have relevant standard up to mark methodology, written in precise manner with proper citation. Discussion should have the novelty, scientific depth and explanation of finding in the light of recent literature and sufficiency of data. Readability Above all the getup and presentation of the journal is eye-catching and soothing. Selection of font and presentation is attractive and thereby it has high degree of readability. Special issue The journal publishes special issue as treasure of knowledge on a particular aspect. Special issues on environmental issues, taxonomy, medicinal plants have already been published and on toxicology, sericulture traditional knowledge is underway.
